Steel-lined PTFE pipes have small holes on them – what are they for? ? Solve
Is it an exhaust vent designed to prevent thermal expansion and contraction of the inner lining?
I feel it should serve the same purpose as the holes in the reinforcement rings at the openings of the equipment, that is, to allow exhaust gas during the lining installation process. I’m not sure if this is correct.
Drill a small hole at the end of the steel pipe, make it clearly marked, and ensure it is not blocked. This hole is used to vent the residual gas between the steel pipe and the PTFE pipe during heating, and it is also used to check whether the PTFE pipe is damaged and leaking during pressure testing.
It is specified in Article 5.4.4 of HG/T 20538-2016 \"Series for the Selection of Plastic-Lined Steel Pipes and Fittings\".
