When can the eye-drilling tee be used?

For the regular tees that are commonly used, under what circumstances can socketed tees be used and under what circumstances cannot they be used? Does any expert know?
On pressure pipelines, do not use tees with directly cut openings.

Strictly speaking, this is not called a socket tee; according to the standards, a tee cannot be referred to as such if there are no welds on the main pipes on either side of the branch pipe. It is called branch connection. When the ratio of the outer diameter to the wall thickness of the main pipe is greater than 100, the outer diameter of the branch pipe cannot exceed half that of the main pipe.
