The carbon steel check valve is a valve used for shutting off boiler feed water and steam; it combines the functions of a lift-type check valve with those of a globe valve or angle valve. Depending on the operating conditions, the disc of a US standard check valve can be of all-metal construction, or it can consist of a rubber gasket or ring embedded in a disc frame. Forged steel check valves are used in industrial pipelines as devices to prevent the backflow of fluid. When a pneumatic valve is closed, pressure generated by the fluid under pressure still exists inside the valve body. Before repairing the valve, it is necessary to relieve the pressure inside the pipeline and keep the valve in the open position; the power or gas supply must be disconnected, and the pneumatic actuator must be separated from its support. Only then can the disassembly work be carried out for maintenance. Pneumatic valves evolved from plug valves. It has the same 90-degree rotation lift action; the difference is that the plug body is spherical, with a circular through-hole passage running along its axis. The ratio between the sphere and the opening should be such that when the sphere rotates 90 degrees, the entire area at the inlet and outlet should be covered by the sphere, thereby blocking the flow. Pneumatic valves can be closed tightly with just a 90-degree rotation and a very small torque. The completely equal internal cavity of the valve provides a flow path with very low resistance and direct passage for the medium. Care must be taken during disassembly and reassembly to prevent damage to the sealing surfaces of the parts, especially those made of non-metallic materials. Special tools should be used to remove O-rings. When reassembling the valve, the bolts on the flanges must be tightened symmetrically, gradually, and evenly. The cleaning agent must be compatible with the rubber components, plastic components, metal components, and working medium present in the pneumatic valve. Non-metallic parts should be cleaned with pure water or alcohol; when the working medium is gas, metal parts can be cleaned with gasoline. The individual parts that have been separated can be cleaned by immersion. Metal parts that still contain unbroken non-metallic components can be cleaned by wiping them with a clean, fine silk cloth soaked in cleaning solution. During cleaning, all grease, dirt, residue, dust, and other substances adhering to the wall surfaces must be removed. During assembly, metal shavings, fibers, grease, dust, and other impurities or foreign objects must not contaminate, adhere to, or remain on the surface of the parts, nor may they enter their internal cavities. If there is a slight leak at the packing, the valve stem nut should be tightened further. Therefore, when problems occur with pneumatic ball valves, it is essential to identify the faults promptly, and the correct methods can be used to study, analyze, and resolve them.
