Recently, the information management system for the valve and pump testing stations at Maoming Petrochemical’s material supply center was put into use, enabling digital management of the inspection process for valves upon their arrival at the facility and reducing the workload for employees. Previously, at the material supply center, the inspection and pressure testing of valves upon arrival were carried out with employees manually recording the inspection data, which led to issues such as heavy workload, low efficiency, and a high likelihood of errors. It also made it difficult to preserve and trace material-related data. To this end, the center actively engaged in technical exchanges with various organizations regarding the information management system for valve and pump testing benches, and successfully introduced this system in May this year. This system adopts a client-server architecture for data storage and for receiving the assignment numbers issued by the material management system. The basic data on valve testing and process data sent by the clients can be uniformly backed up and queried. At present, data acquisition terminals for pump testing stations have been installed at 9 valve testing stations in Warehouse 5, Warehouse 23, and Warehouse 29 of the center’s main warehouse. These terminals communicate with the server side, and a dedicated network is established via 5G technology; wireless networks are also set up in each warehouse area to enable interconnection. After the implementation of the information management system for valve pump testing stations, employees can carry out their tasks in accordance with the established procedures, and the data is automatically submitted to the server. This improves the quality control process for valves entering Maoming Petrochemical’s facilities, preventing substandard products from getting in, thereby providing a solid guarantee for safe and stable operations.
