The check valves that can be found in valve manuals, various product descriptions, and catalogues are all not suitable for use with flow from top to bottom, and none can be found online either. Are there any check valves available on the market that allow flow from top to bottom?
A spring-loaded lift-type check valve can be installed on vertical pipelines with fluid flow from top to bottom, but the detailed design parameters must be provided to the manufacturer, including back pressure and opening pressure. If the fluid is a liquid, it is also necessary to inform the manufacturer of the hydrostatic head above the check valve, so that they can determine the appropriate spring force.
