Our company has newly installed hydrogen compressors that use rotary vane fans, so we would like to know the precautions for operating such rotary vane fans as hydrogen compressors.
Back then, it was used with great concern – replacement was necessary every time it was driven, it was noisy, it had flexible connections at the inlet and outlet, and its overall temperature was high. It’s still more hassle-free to use a water ring vacuum pump, OP!

Before starting the Roots blower, the air in the inlet buffer tank must be completely replaced. After the Roots blower started operating, its overall temperature was high, and the oil seals often leaked oil; lubricant was added while maintaining the appropriate oil level, which is why the lubricant has not been changed in two years of operation. Previously, an inverter was also added to regulate the Roots blower :) . Before starting up a Roots blower, it is necessary to pay attention to certain things; during operation as well, precautions are required. Even when shutting down the blower, attention must be paid to the areas where hydrogen will be used later, to prevent air from getting in.
