It cannot be stored in austenitic stainless steel.

In fact, as long as the moisture content in liquid chlorine is below 50 ppmv, there is no problem with either carbon steel or stainless steel.
Carbon steel is reliable, and it’s best to use low-temperature steel
It’s better to use carbon steel, as excessive moisture can cause holes
For chlorine, carbon steel will do – it’s cheap, effective, and reliable
316L can be used for liquid chlorine, but since its price is much higher than that of low-temperature steel, it is not necessary to use 316L; however, its use in specific areas is still possible.
