Recently, during a safety inspection, the expert team identified several items that needed to be corrected; one of them was that remote operation of the liquid chlorine transfer system was not possible, and corrective actions were required. We feel very confused and don’t know how to achieve it. Because at the base of each pipe outlet in the liquid chlorine storage tank, 2 manual valves are required. During feeding operations, material is fed only into one tank; the inlet and outlet valves of the other tanks are manually closed, with only the vapor equilibrium valve left slightly open to prevent pressure buildup. For the filling operation, only the discharge valve, reflux valve, and vapor equilibrium valve of one storage tank are opened. Even if emergency shut-off valves are added to the inlet and outlet of each tank, how can the manual valves be opened remotely? For the reserved slot, the manual feeding valve can be left open; but do the outlet valves of the other storage tanks also need to be kept open at all times? Close right next to a shut-off valve? If the liquid level in the tank is around 75%, should the outlet valve of that tank also be opened? Before starting the liquid chlorine magnetic pump, can it be started remotely without checking the pipeline valves? Would such security risks be greater? **Are there any technical specifications in this regard? I hope those with experience in this area can give some advice; thank you!
There are two concepts related to tank switching: one is the switching of the feeding tank, which takes place when a storage tank reaches its upper liquid level. Another is to transfer liquid chlorine from one tank to another. What kind is the expert asking for? Actually, you don’t have to listen only to experts; as long as it’s not required by laws and regulations, you can ignore them! Sometimes experts merely offer suggestions; they themselves don’t even know whether they are sound!
