Recently, China Five Rings Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Sinochem, and Hubei Xinxiangyun New Materials Co., Ltd. successfully signed an EPC contract for the entire plant’s utility systems, as well as for facilities for producing 1.8 million tons per year of phosphorus-based new materials, 100,000 tons per year of potassium dihydrogen phosphate, 100,000 tons per year of mid-grade flame-retardant materials, 150,000 tons per year of battery-grade ammonium phosphate, and 200,000 tons per year of multi-element acidic fertilizers designed for specific agricultural uses. The Xinxiangyun phosphorus-based new materials project covers an area of about 2,000 mu, with the first phase expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2024. Based on phosphate rock, sulfur, and pyrite as raw materials, this project produces bulk products such as compound fertilizers, as well as new materials like iron phosphate and high-performance flame retardants. Meanwhile, the phosphogypsum generated is utilized comprehensively, thereby enabling the hierarchical use of wet-process phosphoric acid and maximizing the added value of the products. Once the project is completed and put into operation, it will generate an output value of 10 billion yuan and create 1,177 new job opportunities, bringing significant economic and social benefits.
