Could some expert please introduce the process of using sulfuric acid for cleaning without the need for an alkaline scrubber tower? I heard that Shaanxi Beiyuan Chemical uses sulfuric acid for cleaning, and no alkali scrubber is installed afterward. Does anyone know the specific process?
For acetylene sulfuric acid purification, there is an alkali scrubber before the purification tower, and another alkali scrubber is added afterward; this results in wasted efficiency in removing water with sulfuric acid, and an additional refrigeration-based water removal unit is required.
The main function of the first alkali scrubber is to remove H2S, but it cannot remove PH3 ； The sulfuric acid tower oxidizes PH3 to SO2; the reaction is: PH3 + 2H2SO4 = SO2 + H3PO4 + 2H2O + S. It is necessary to use a second alkali scrubbing tower to remove SO2, with the reaction being: SO2 + 2NaOH = Na2SO3 + H2O
