Help: I would like to ask everyone, for the leakage of PILLER packing in German-made regeneration fans, what are the possible causes? Thank you
The packing of regenerative fans all features carbon ring non-contact sealing; firstly, initial vibrations of the fan cause wear on the carbon rings, and secondly, the sealing air is not adjusted properly. Under normal stable operation, leaks should occur very rarely
Generally, regenerative fans are sealed with nitrogen, using carbon rings for the sealing mechanism. The current leakage indicates that the nitrogen seal can no longer hold back the gas; the most likely reason is that the carbon rings are damaged
The Pile fans use carbon ring seals and are flushed with nitrogen. What you’re describing is likely wear of the carbon ring; replace it, and also check the nitrogen line.
There is a tendency for wear of the graphite carbon rings inside the mechanical seal; how long has this fan been in use? Theoretically, it only needs to be replaced once per maintenance cycle
We’ve been using it for over a decade without it breaking or needing to be replaced
