What are the advantages and disadvantages of Bryden steam seals compared to traditional comb-tooth steam seals?
The Brayden gas seal is able to effectively prevent static and dynamic friction between the gas seal and the rotor by remaining open during shutdown and closing after reaching the critical speed, thereby ensuring that a minimum operating gap is maintained between the gas seal and the rotor throughout the operation of the unit.
