Some experienced workers suggest lifting the pump, while others recommend removing the motor base plate and placing it on a lathe. Could those who know more please advise whether there is a correct approach?
In principle, the pump serves as a relative reference point, as it is connected to the pipes and, constrained by the pipe structure, is usually unable to move. But if there is room for adjustment, try to resolve it on the spot as much as possible.
By how much? Try to move the motor end as much as possible
It is usually the motor. If there are no shims under the motor to reduce stress, then adjust the shims on the pump’s base. However, be sure to readjust the supports for the inlet and outlet pipes to ensure that there is no additional piping stress on the pump’s inlet and outlet
The motor is merely a auxiliary device for the piping; first adjust the pump head with the pipes in place, and then the motor will adjust accordingly.
