How is the pressure rating of the flange made of titanium Ti2 determined? Are there any corresponding standards?
The pressure rating should be selected according to the process requirements! Titanium is merely a different type of material for flanges; there are changes in the material’s strength and corrosion resistance properties
The pressure rating of the flange depends on the design pressure; the pressure rating of the flange chosen must not be lower than the design pressure. Of course, a too high pressure rating is not economical. Different materials directly affect the dimensional specifications of the flange, as well as its resistance to corrosion and other properties, but they have no impact on the pressure rating
Flanges for titanium equipment mostly adopt a swivel structure. If flanges made of pure titanium are used, and since there are no standards specific to titanium in flange specifications, they must be considered as custom-made flanges.
All flanges are made of titanium – that’s definitely something for the ultra-wealthy. Stainless steel slip-on flanges can be used in combination with titanium butt weld rings!
