Technical requirements for high-hazard media: Pressure vessels containing extremely or highly hazardous media (Group 1) are subject to the following mandatory requirements: 01 The level gauge must be equipped with a protection device to prevent leaks. 02 To minimize the leakage of the medium outside through the safety valve, it can be used in series with a burst disc. 03 The rupture disc safety device shall not be used alone, but may be connected in series with a safety valve. 04 Verifying blast tests shall not be used to determine the design pressure of containers. 05 The comparative experience design method shall not be used. 06 When the thickness of the steel plate used for the shell is ≥12 mm, ultrasonic testing shall be carried out on each plate, with a grade of II being considered acceptable. 07 Steel pipes of grades 10, 20, and Q345D as specified in GB/T 8163 shall not be used. 08 Steel pipes of Class III and Class IV as specified in GB/T 12771 shall not be used. 09 Steel pipes specified in GB/T 24593 shall not be used. 10 Heat exchange tubes shall not be of Class VI steel pipes as specified in GB/T 21832.
03 It should be clear that a combination of a burst disc and a safety valve should be used in the following situations: (1) When used in series (the burst disc is installed at the inlet of the safety valve) ① To protect the safety valve from corrosion, blockage, or other adverse effects caused by the process medium; ②Prevent safety valve leakage ; ③Reduce the discharge loss after the rupture of the blast disc ; ④Online testing of safety valves. (2) Used in series (the rupture disc is installed at the outlet of the safety valve) to protect the safety valve from corrosion by the gases in the discharge pipe. (3) Use blast disc devices in parallel as auxiliary safety relief devices for fire conditions
