After the non-destructive testing of the welds that must be inspected is successful, any defective welds must be repaired and retested until they pass as well; only then can overall heat treatment be carried out; II. For materials prone to reheat cracking, non-destructive testing is also required after heat treatment ; III. For reactors such as hydrogenation reactors, non-destructive testing is carried out after the hydrostatic test. So, in general, NDT is performed before heat treatment, and in some cases it is also carried out after heat treatment.

Post-weld heat treatment can only be carried out after all welding work on the pressure vessel has been completed and passed inspection. This is the requirement of clause 4.2.6.2 in TSG 21-2016.

That’s the thing; if you don’t come into contact with it often, you simply can’t remember it! Heat treatment can only be carried out after non-destructive testing is successful.
Are you sure? How can it be ensured that all welds are qualified without conducting non-destructive testing?
Whole-furnace heat treatment is similar to on-site heat treatment of welds; the only difference is that whole-furnace heat treatment yields better results. In both cases, NDT is performed after welding, followed by heat treatment.
