You have first-class equipment, first-class manufacturing capabilities, and significant investment in hardware, but you’re not making any money right now. Because you didn’t know how to achieve an investment balance, you focused too much on hardware: manufacturing equipment
It is necessary to distinguish between new projects and renovation projects here. For a new project, in terms of the production process, the equipment capacity and selection are definitely left entirely to the design institute; the manufacturing unit simply produces the equipment based on the specifications provided by the design institute. In the case of a renovation project involving equipment upgrades, the customer already has the equipment drawings, and the manufacturing unit can simply construct according to those drawings. From the perspective of the role of each department, design is design, and manufacturing is manufacturing. Of course, there is another scenario in which the capacity of the existing equipment is insufficient, requiring a reevaluation and replacement of the heat exchanger. If the manufacturer can conduct some design calculations based on the user’s process conditions and provide drawings for the heat exchanger, I believe it would save a considerable amount of intermediate costs, which would be a significant advantage for the manufacturing unit.

It’s all about bidding processes; the second scenario simply cannot be achieved;
Even when tied to the design and manufacturing factory, competition through bidding still exists; it is impossible for the design team to give concessions to the manufacturing factory at the expense of incurring losses itself.

It’s all something that has been proven through practice; and it’s not just one manufacturing factory that does this – some people are ahead of the curve, while others remain stuck in old patterns and are even reluctant to accept that this is the truth. I can list a few examples here at Haichuan.
Integration with the design and manufacturing factory, and specifically with just the manufacturing factory – both Party A and Party B benefit from this
It’s not the case only for heat exchanger manufacturers; it’s the same in all manufacturing industries. Without technical support, even the best equipment is useless.
This situation is ideal, but it’s impossible or very difficult to achieve. When you have strong technical skills, there’s no need to create anything further
