The data shows that in a fixed-tube-sheet heat exchanger, the tube sheet is welded to the shell side, and the tube bundle is welded to the tube sheet; since everything is welded together, how can the tube bundle be removed for inspection and maintenance? How can something that is welded be taken apart? If the tubes are removed one by one, the tube sheet is welded on the shell side; then how is the tube sheet removed, and how can the shell side be cleaned if the tube sheet is not removed? This question might not be very meaningful, but it has been bothering me for two years. Please advise, thank you
The tube bundle of a fixed-tube-sheet heat exchanger cannot be removed for inspection or maintenance. Floating head type and U-tube type are acceptable.
The shell side uses materials that are easy to clean and do not tend to form scale, such as sulfuric acid on the shell side and water on the tube side

If a pipe leaks, it can be plugged up or removed and replaced with a new one, though it’s quite troublesome.
