In a static melting crystallizer, the Platecoil heat exchange plates are placed vertically inside the crystallization chamber; a heat transfer medium is used to cool the mother liquor gradually below its freezing point, resulting in the formation of a crystal layer on the surface of the Platecoil plates. Impurities are then removed through a sweating process to purify the crystals. This process is simple to operate, has low environmental impact and energy consumption, provides good separation results, and yields products of high purity; it is suitable for the crystallization of waxes, monomers, carboxylic acids, menthol, chlorobenzene derivatives, TDI and MDI, aromatic isomers, organic and inorganic substances, as well as tar chemicals such as naphthalene and anthracene
