The project is designed to produce 2 million tons of synthetic ammonia, 3.5 million tons of urea, and 200,000 tons of liquefied natural gas per year, with a total investment of 20 billion yuan. This successful bid marks the second time that the two parties have collaborated, following the first phase of the 2X40,000 Nm3/h air separation project carried out by China Coal Ordos Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. The first phase, which included a 2X40,000 Nm3/h air separation unit, was completed in 2013; the second phase involved the construction of an air separation unit with a capacity of 75,000 Nm3/h to support the methanol production. Once the plan for a 75,000 Nm3/h air separation plant was finalized, it attracted competition from numerous engineering companies in China.
