Accelerated Progress in the Commissioning of Sanning Chemical’s Ethylene Glycol Project Author/Source: Sanning Chemical Date: 2020-11-02 Clicks: 48 On October 27, 2020, the molecular sieve filling operation for the purifier in System 2 of the air separation unit was successfully completed; thus, molecular sieves have now been installed in both air separation units. The completion of this loading **advanced the overall commissioning progress and laid the groundwork for the trial operation of System 2#. On October 30, the urea Ф24m scraper for the ethylene glycol project was successfully tested. The image shows staff in the urea workshop beginning to manually turn the scraper. It is reported that the urea scraper for the ethylene glycol project is installed at the bottom of the granulation tower with a diameter of Ф24m. To balance the self-weight and the scraping load, an innovative \"four-scrapper arm\" design with two long arms and two short arms has been adopted, the maximum diameter of the main scraper arm being Ф23800mm. On October 30, the pressure testing with water for the desorption and hydrolysis system of the urea plant was successfully completed. It is reported that starting from October 28, the urea plant began to arrange for its operators to work overtime to add water during the desorption and hydrolysis process. After filling the system with water under pressure using the feed pump in the desorption tower, leaks were checked and repaired once again. After two days of hard work, the system was declared to have passed the water-filled pressure testing successfully.
