Gentlemen! Approximately 40,000 cubic meters of carbon dioxide gas are released as exhaust from the hydrogen sulfide concentration tower in the low-temperature methanol washing process; has any technical modification been carried out to recover this excess pressure, with a pressure level of 0.8 kilograms?
It’s a good direction; the process isn’t complicated either, and your capacity isn’t that large.
The solvent absorption method uses specific solvents to absorb and desorb carbon dioxide. Suitable for recovering carbon dioxide from low-concentration carbon dioxide waste gas. The process is relatively complex and the operating costs are high, but the concentration of carbon dioxide recovered can reach over 98%. Pressure swing adsorption uses solid adsorbents to absorb carbon dioxide from mixed gases. The adsorbent has high selectivity and can be used to remove carbon dioxide from the conversion gas of fertilizer plants. The process is simple, operates fully automatically, has low production costs, and the adsorbent has a long lifespan. The concentration of the recovered carbon dioxide can reach over 60%, but it is not suitable for use as a product when the concentration is too low. Organic membrane separation uses hollow fiber membranes for the high-pressure separation of carbon dioxide. Suitable for gas source purification in applications where the carbon dioxide concentration should not exceed 90%. This technology is still in the development stage in China, but it holds potential for application. Low-temperature distillation is suitable for situations where the carbon dioxide concentration in the gas stream is over 90%, high purity of the product is required, and liquefaction for storage and transportation is necessary. High-purity liquid carbon dioxide can be obtained through low-temperature distillation technology. The water head process (for specific applications, such as breweries) is used in fermentation tanks to recover carbon dioxide from the off-gases through a water head mechanism. Pure carbon dioxide from the storage tank is introduced into the water until saturation, and the saturated carbonic acid drives the carbon dioxide upward into the recovery system or temporary storage tank
The exhaust gas obtained from low-temperature methanol washing is particularly suitable as a source for carbon dioxide recovery
Isn’t a pressure recovery cycle this low a bit long?
The carbon dioxide concentration is high and the cost is low; it mainly depends on the local market price of carbon dioxide
You need to provide specific parameters for this; I can help you do the calculations. The required parameters are: gas flow rate (under standard conditions) and temperature; Pressure and temperature at the vent. If the plant has some low-quality heat sources, the power generation volume might be higher. If there are specific parameters, I can do the calculation for you. Previously, it took us roughly 2 years to recoup the costs.
It is used for generating power from residual pressure, with excellent efficiency; there are many successful cases
