With increasingly strict environmental regulations, there is now a requirement to install oil and vapor recovery systems in both internal floating roof tank areas and fixed roof tank areas. So, if such systems are installed, how should the amount of oil and vapor recovered be calculated? If calculated according to the standards for the thermal breathing volume of storage tanks, the value obtained is too high and not realistic; on the other hand, if those standards are not followed, there is no appropriate basis for design. So what should be done?
Since the internal floating roof has no oil and gas venting, why is it necessary to recover them? If one is going to do it, then heat breathing certainly needs to be taken into consideration
Internal floating roofs also have oil and gas venting, but in much smaller amounts compared to fixed roofs. However, given China’s current environmental standards of 4–120 mg/m3, even internal floating roofs fail to meet these requirements.
