Can butterfly valves be used in pipelines for transporting combustible gases?

The pipeline requires regulation of the flow rate of combustible gases, and butterfly valves are considered for this purpose. However, since butterfly valves do not provide very good sealing, can they be used in this situation?
Since it is about regulating gas flow, for automatic regulation we generally use single-seat control valves (pneumatic or explosion-proof types), while for manual regulation globe valves are used. A ball valve is installed on the main pipe in front of the control valve to enable shutdown or maintenance. Butterfly valves have limited regulation accuracy, so they are generally not recommended
It mainly has a relatively large diameter of DN450 and is manually adjustable; there aren’t valves of such a large size available. Are there any other types of valves that can be used?
Low precision requirements? Butterfly valves work fine; we use pneumatic air-regulating butterfly valves for gas supply, not for precise adjustments (for heating industrial furnaces). It is advisable to use a shut-off valve to ensure sealing – we use DN250 pneumatic ball valves in such cases, with the valves being normally in the open position
