Seeking advice: I want to use a plate and frame filter press to filter recrystallized salt crystals containing sodium sulfite. Is this approach feasible?
It depends on the size of your crystal particles
The plan is not feasible. Plate and frame filtration is merely a physical process that removes water from the filter residue. To obtain sodium sulfate crystals, crystallization and quality separation are also required.

That’s right; using a plate and frame filter means high-pressure water filtration.
The filter residue containing sodium sulfite may not yet be able to be simply treated as solid waste.
Since the previous section is a medical waste treatment device, it is planned to mix this filter residue directly with the ash residues and dispose of it at specialized facilities for handling hazardous waste. The purpose of the entire system is volume reduction sterilization. Is this okay?
The reduction target has been achieved (volume reduction), but the harmless treatment measures seem not to have been implemented yet (sterilization).
Can’t waste incineration achieve sterilization?
Are the transportation and disposal (waste incineration) processes controllable? Is it a qualified unit approved by the environmental protection authorities? Is the method of incinerating the filter residue containing sodium sulfite an effective approach?
