Considerations for selecting positive displacement flowmeters: (1) When choosing such a flowmeter, it is not sufficient to determine the instrument specifications based solely on the diameter of the pipes connected to it; Attention should be paid to the measurement range in practical applications, ensuring it remains within the range of the selected instrument. (2) To prevent solid particles in the liquid from entering the flow meter and wearing out its moving parts, a screen filter should be installed in front of the flow meter, and care should be taken to clean and replace the filter screens regularly. (3) If the liquid being measured contains gas or may release gas, a gas-liquid separator should be installed in front of the flow meter to prevent gas from entering the flow meter and forming bubbles, which could affect the accuracy of measurement. (4) In precision measurements, the impact of temperature changes in the medium being measured on flow rate measurement must be taken into account. In the past, manual corrections were used; nowadays, there are volumetric flow meters that provide automatic compensation for temperature and pressure, as well as automatic display and recording of the flow rate.
