Our computers take too long to boot up; the startup time for the 17 computers ranges from several dozen minutes to several hours. Is it a problem with the computer’s configuration or an issue with the system itself? Help!
It’s an XP system; I guess the computer is quite old. After you start it, go to Windows Explorer to check the CPU and memory usage
Could it be that too many things start up along with the system? Running XP with 2GB of RAM can’t be said to start up in an instant, but it certainly can’t be that slow either! Slow startup: 1. Too many programs start up along with the system. 2. In older computers, there may be bad sectors on the hard drive. 3. The CPU temperature is high, so it automatically reduces its speed to protect itself
The main issue is the long delay between when the winds progress bar finishes and when the desktop is displayed! CENTUM VP starts automatically.
Open Task Manager to check memory usage and CPU utilization; To diagnose the issue, temporarily disable the automatic startup of CENTUM VP and check whether the computer’s startup speed returns to normal ; If normal operation is restored, it indicates that the startup processes of CENTUM VP affect the system’s response speed; increase the memory ; If normal operation cannot be restored, it is a problem with the system itself–system configuration or hardware issues ; Setting a fixed IP on the network card makes the system start up faster than when no IP is set
The speed of booting up is often related to the hard drive. 1. An aging hard drive – mechanical drives are not as good as solid-state drives; if possible, use a solid-state drive. If that’s not possible, consider replacing the hard drive with a new one. 2. Delete unnecessary files from the hard drive, including those that cause automatic startup. If possible, clean up disk fragmentation as well. The larger the hard drive and the more data it holds, the slower it will start up. 3. Clean dust from the computer case. For air-cooled systems, cleaning is usually needed every 3 years in northern regions, especially the fans of the power supply, which can accumulate a lot of dust. 4. When opening the computer case, take the time to remove the memory modules, clean them, and also clean the gold contacts. Remove the cooling pad from the CPU and clean off any dust. Generally, the cooling paste on a computer CPU dries out after about 3 years; if possible, buy a new one – they cost around 2 yuan each. If that’s not possible, use toothpaste instead. 5. XP is not as good as W7, and W7 is not as good as W10. Upgrade the operating system whenever possible. Before installing a new system, export your data to a USB drive, then download a user-friendly installation program from websites like DaBaiCai and save it to a blank USB drive with at least 3GB of storage space. 6. Avoid using antivirus software if possible. If you’re worried, use 360. Remember, having multiple antivirus programs will slow down the system. For example, using both Kingsoft and 360 will cause conflicts; with three programs, things will get even worse!!! However, many organizations prevent data leaks by keeping important computers offline. If a computer can be used to post online, it’s likely not that important. 7. Develop the habit of exporting important data to a hard drive – this will be very beneficial for you. 8. The computer may be owned by the company, but the work done on it is your own. If you can’t stand it, try upgrading your office computer. Most old office computers have only one stick of memory. You can buy used memory modules from platforms like Xianyu or local internet cafes, which will significantly improve the performance of the computer, especially when running large applications or multiple programs at once. If possible, get a used CPU as well – even used CPUs are better than those in office computers. To compare performance, refer to Baidu’s CPU ranking chart; by comparing it, you’ll know what level your device is at. 9. You can install two hard drives. On Taobao, used 500GB hard drives cost around 100 yuan. They’re even cheaper offline. Use one hard drive for storing files and another for storing startup programs
It’s likely that the computer’s specifications are too low; try using a computer with higher specifications to install the software.
This is too slow, how do I use it! Upgrade to a higher configuration!
A slow computer can be caused by software issues or hardware problems. If you really don’t understand it or if your computer is old, it’s advisable to get a new one. After all, it’s not very expensive. .
