How exactly are the turbine expansion differential probes installed, and how is the installation distance calculated?
Looking at the question, you’re not in design, right?:) If you’re involved in installation, then you should follow the instrument installation instructions as well as the data provided by the equipment manufacturers. This can’t be solved with a general formula, right?
Do you know anything about differential expansion? What data is needed can be used to calculate the installation distance.
1 Should an eddy current probe be used? 2. Adjust the clearance allowance appropriately according to the possible direction of deviation and the maximum value. 3. It is preferable that the probe holder be designed to allow for online adjustment even while the machine is in operation. 4. The trend of expansion differences should be provided by the equipment.
