RT, how do companies manage the deployment of process control systems? Which departments are all needed? Which leaders need to sign?
For lower garments, if the design is modified, procedures for changing the alarm values and other related parameters must be carried out. Each company has its own specific procedures; of course, the more approvers there are, the better, as this reduces the risk associated with tasks being assigned to individuals. Once the process starts to cause problems, the production workshop won’t keep asking for changes here and there every day.
I’ve never heard that lower garments require department approval. It is sufficient for just one instrument engineer in the lower-level team to give approval. It’s just that you must have made changes to your lower garments. Depending on what is changed, different departments need to give their approval.
We carry out downloads and installations at runtime only with the approval of the department heads responsible for production safety and related technical aspects. It is necessary to outline the potential risks associated with such downloads in advance and prepare contingency plans. For large-scale installations, as well as those that are highly dangerous or require strict control parameters, online downloading is not recommended; instead, it is advisable to arrange these tasks during maintenance periods
The stricter, the better. The more modifications there are, the more lower-level components are involved, which makes subsequent maintenance more complicated and creates more potential problems.
