　　The pressure of the medium at the inlet end of the pipeline overcomes the spring resistance to open or close the valve. When the pressure of the medium at the inlet side is lower than that at the outlet side, the spring pushes the valve core against the valve seat, closing the valve and preventing the medium from flowing in reverse; thus, it acts as a check valve. 　　Vertical check valves are widely used in industries such as chemicals, liquefied petroleum gas, and fluids. 　　Classified by structure, check valves can be divided into lift-type check valves, swing-type check valves, and butterfly check valves. Installation and use of vertical check valves: 1. Both ends of the valve’s passage must be blocked, and it should be placed in a dry and well-ventilated room. If stored for a long time, regular checks for rust should be carried out. 2. Before installation, the valve should be cleaned thoroughly, and any defects caused during transportation should be eliminated. 3. During installation, it is necessary to carefully check whether the markings and nameplates on the valve meet the requirements for use. 4. Vertical check valves are installed on horizontal pipes with the valve cover facing upward.
