I’m seeking help. Regarding the issue of oil leakage at the wiring outlets for the shafting instruments in large machines such as turbines and centrifuges, do any experts in this field have any good sealing solutions? There is always some leakage of hot oil and gas, and it’s not possible to address this issue during normal operation; these devices need to be used over long periods of time. Is it even more problematic when there are multiple wires coming out from those outlets?
In the event of a shutdown, after degreasing the wires, is it considered to use foam sealant for filling? Care should be taken to prevent foam adhesive from entering the interior of the machine. Alternatively, an outer shield can be installed, filled with foam adhesive, and attached to the body. For reference.
Yesterday I watched a video showing that Germans apply a gel substance at such joints to prevent leaks, vibrations, dust, water, and lightning damage.
Will this cause difficulties during disassembly, or lead to damage to the wires?
If the interface is NPT, tighten it.
