The main reasons for inaccurate readings in Emerson flowmeters during use are factors related to the flowmeter itself, process conditions, as well as the testing methods and reference equipment used. Depending on the different factors, the aspects we need to check also vary. 1. Factors related to the flow meter itself: Check whether the flow coefficient specified in the Emerson flow meter configuration matches the coefficient indicated on the nameplate ; Check whether the instrument coefficients for quality, volume, and density are 1.0000 ; Check the instrument zero point, measurement units, and alarm messages ; Check whether there is a difference between the cumulative value of the receiving device and that of the flow meter ; Check the damping settings for mass flow, density, and temperature. 2. Process factors: Whether the pipeline in which the Emerson flow meter is installed is always filled to capacity, and check for any gas-liquid two-phase condition ; Is the pipeline inventory of the pipeline where the flow meter is located consistent? ; In situations where the batch flow rate is low and pressure changes significantly, metal pipes should be used ; Check whether the bypass pipelines and valves are leaking, and whether the operating temperature and pressure are changing significantly. 3. When comparing testing methods with reference equipment and volumetric devices, the accuracy of the container’s volume measurement, the precision of measurements for variables such as liquid level, temperature, and density, as well as the effect of air buoyancy, should be taken into account ; When comparing with weighing equipment, the accuracy of the weighing device and the impact of its division value on the batch size should be taken into account ; When performing small-scale comparisons, the impact of timing errors must be taken into account; when collecting data periodically, the effect of differences in the timing of data collection should be considered ; When comparing with Emerson flowmeters, consider the rated accuracy of the reference flowmeter.
