In the wastewater relocation project, several outdoor tanks are equipped with E+H ultrasonic level gauges, but the displayed level values fluctuate significantly, making it impossible to use automatic control. The measurement principle of an ultrasonic level gauge is as follows: A low-frequency sound wave is sent out by the probe to reach the surface of the liquid, where it is reflected back; the probe then receives this reflected wave and calculates the exact distance, outputting a corresponding 4-20mA signal; Due to the limitations of the measurement principle, sound wave propagation requires air or other media as a medium for transmission; as a result, there are many interfering factors such as noise, fog, and condensation water ; It needs to be checked in detail ; For this operating condition, a radar level gauge is recommended; an economical one will suffice ; First of all, its price is not much higher than that of ultrasonic ones ; Secondly, it is recommended to use a rod antenna, as it can resist the accumulation of condensation water ; Furthermore, to address the issue of level fluctuations, damping filtering is required; therefore, a radar-level gauge equipped with an intelligent suppression algorithm must be selected in order to obtain stable and reliable measurement results ; Finally, the transmission of high-frequency radar waves does not rely on a transmission medium, giving it greater resistance to interference ; Recommended model NR7100 ; Recommended brands from imported manufacturers: German UWT, E+H, VEGA, SIEMENS ; As for manufacturers in the M series, I won’t make any recommendations – the reasons are obvious to everyone.

All outdoor level gauges have a defogging function. Could you take a photo to show what it looks like? I’m also using an E+H radar. It’s fine in summer, but in winter water droplets tend to form on it, and water droplets are not allowed.
The manufacturer replied that it can be achieved by adjusting the instrument parameters; so far, there is no practical solution
If possible, try redoing the interference suppression by creating a clearance similar to the height of the pool. Additionally, the dielectric constant setting also affects the accuracy of radar measurements
