What is the longest laying distance of 1.0mm2 cable to connect to on-site instruments? How long do you use for the longest distance?
1. The minimum voltage allowed by the working voltage of the field instrument, and then back-calculate the cable resistance to get the length. 2. If it is an intrinsically safe system, you also need to look at the capacitance and inductance values allowed by the safety barrier, and then calculate the cable length.
What is the longest meter used? Is there one over 250 meters or even longer?
This should consider the signal type, the power of the instrument, some instruments allow a larger voltage drop, and the other is the voltage.
This post was last edited by qugd on 2021-2-25 09:14 Without considering the cable cost and electrical signal transmission loss, theoretically this cable can be laid to Mars, it depends on whether you have that many cables. For two-wire instruments, 1 square meter of wire is a bit tight, maybe 300 meters or 500 meters is the limit. For a four-wire instrument, due to the strong load capacity of the output signal (not absolute), it is estimated that it should be able to reach 1000 meters. Also check whether the receiving end has any special requirements for signal quality.
Well, I usually design 1mm2 cables, and the theoretical length should not exceed 250 meters, but the actual length should not exceed 200. I just want to see if anyone has laid a longer distance. Now that copper prices are skyrocketing, I have to be careful. There is no need to consider the interference problem, it can be made into a double-screen twisted pair.
