Due to its advantages such as simple installation, no need for drilling holes, and avoidance of welding, external level gauges are widely used in industries such as petrochemicals, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. Sand the tank wall – First, we need to sand the outer surface of the tank, covering an area larger than Φ80mm. 2. Remove the protective cover – Take out the probe and remove its protective cover. 3. Apply coupling agent: Wrap the sealing ring around the outer edge of the shield. Apply silicone grease to the probe core in a layer 1.5–2 mm thick. 4. Install the probe. 5. Install the bend support: The bend support is fixed to the DN50 (2”) vertical pipe using U-bolts and M8 nuts. 6. Install the main unit: Use the cross-head screws M8*14, flat washers, and spring washers provided as installation accessories to fix the main unit to the mounting bracket. 7. Lay the pipelines: The thread type for the pipeline connections is as follows – the pipeline connection of the instrument main unit features internal G1/2” threads, while those of the measurement probe use external G1/2” threads. Users generally use DN20 (6’) galvanized pipes with G3/4” external thread connections; a corresponding adapter is required, and this adapter is included in the packaging accessory bag. Hose connections: The flexible hoses connecting the host and the nearby part of the measurement probe are made of explosion-proof flexible pipes, while the remaining piping is equipped with DN20 (6’) galvanized pipes. The hose connecting the measuring probe should not experience significant torsional forces, to prevent the probe from falling off. Sealing and drainage: The cable inlet of the main unit must be equipped with sealing rings and metal gaskets of the appropriate diameter (included), as well as clamps to prevent water from entering ; The lowest point of the pipe running between the measuring probe and the host must be equipped with a drainage outlet, such as a drain-type explosion-proof isolation seal box (provided by the user). Interference prevention: Instrument pipelines should be laid parallel to strong-interference circuits such as motors and drives as much as possible. 8. Instrument wiring: 4–20 ma instruments provide active signal output; the control room is equipped with passive cards. Hart instruments output passive signals, while the control room uses active cards. RS485 Modbus signal output; the control room is equipped with an RS485 card
