There are many types of Rosemount 3051 transmitters, as well as numerous models; the three most basic types of these 3051 transmitters are gauge pressure, absolute pressure, and differential pressure. 1. 3051CA gauge pressure transmitter: When the reference pressure is vacuum, the measured pressure value is the absolute pressure, commonly referred to as gauge pressure. 2. 3051CG gauge pressure transmitter: When the reference pressure is the local atmospheric pressure, the measured pressure value is the gauge pressure. When gauge pressure is positive, it is simply referred to as pressure; when gauge pressure is negative, it is called negative pressure or vacuum. For the negative pressure of Rosemount series transmitters, the greater its absolute value, the lower the absolute pressure, and thus the greater the degree of vacuum. 3. 3051CD differential pressure transmitter: During operation, the isolation diaphragms and filling fluid on the high and low pressure sides transmit the process pressure to the filling fluid, which in turn transfers this pressure to the sensing diaphragm at the center of the sensor. When the transmitter experiences the pressure being measured at both ends, the difference between the pressures at those two ends is known as the differential pressure.
The 3051 transmitter is just one series; Rosemount offers many other series of transmitters such as 2051, 2088, 3051, etc. Each series includes pressure transmitters, differential pressure transmitters, and level transmitters.

When selecting a Rosemount 3051 transmitter, there are many factors to take into consideration. Only by understanding what is needed and your own requirements can you make a better choice of the right product.
The most basic process for selection: 1. Determine the medium to be measured: The physical properties of the medium to be measured (such as density, viscosity, volatility, etc.) will directly affect the key parameters for selection, such as measurement range, accuracy, and stability. At the same time, when selecting a 3051 pressure transmitter, it is necessary to consider the degree of erosion and corrosion of the medium on the material in order to choose the appropriate material. 2. Determine the measurement range: The measurement range is one of the important parameters for selection. Generally, the measurement range of the transmitter should be slightly larger than the actual measurement range to prevent the process variable from reaching the upper limit of the range. If the pressure range of the medium to be measured is 0–10 bar, it is recommended to use a 3051 pressure transmitter with a measurement range of 0–20 bar. 3. Determine the accuracy and sensitivity requirements: Accuracy and sensitivity are important parameters of the 3051 pressure transmitter, as they directly affect the measurement precision and response speed of the transmitter. For applications with high precision requirements, it is recommended to use high-precision transmitters, and consider employing temperature compensation and linear compensation techniques. 4. Determine the installation location and environmental conditions: The installation location and environmental conditions of the transmitter also affect the selection process. Different types of 3051 pressure transmitters need to be selected depending on the installation location and environmental conditions. For example, in harsh environments such as high temperatures, low temperatures, corrosion, and high-frequency vibrations, it is necessary to use transmitters with improved performance in terms of resistance to these conditions. 5. Determine the installation method and maintenance requirements: The installation method and maintenance requirements of the transmitter should also be considered as factors in the selection process. Different installation methods and maintenance requirements will directly affect the service life and repair costs. For example, in applications with harsh environmental conditions and difficult maintenance access, explosion-proof, multi-parameter transmitters can be chosen. When selecting a 3051 pressure transmitter, various factors need to be taken into account, such as the measuring medium, measurement range, accuracy, sensitivity, installation location and environmental conditions, installation method, and maintenance requirements. Choosing the 3051 pressure transmitter correctly can ensure the stability and reliability of the system, as well as improve production efficiency and profitability.
There are many things to keep in mind; only by understanding what is needed and your own requirements can you make a better choice of the right product.
