Use an insert-type double-flange level gauge; it’s less prone to crystallization, and other types are difficult to use when crystallization occurs. If you have the money, go for a gauge that uses nuclear radiation, though it requires more maintenance
Thank you for your answer! To date, we have used radar level gauges, double-flange differential pressure transmitters with male die plates, as well as externally mounted magnetic flap level gauges – none of them have yielded satisfactory results, as they get clogged after a short time.
It is a atmospheric-pressure storage tank, with a temperature in the dozens of degrees. It can be installed on the side or from above, with an installation opening in both cases.
The tank is not large, so a top-mounted magnetic flap level gauge could be considered.
There’s no good solution; the only option is to use a radioactive level gauge.
What is the pressure of the gas phase above the liquid surface? What is the temperature of the liquid material? Is there a mixer in the tank? These three points need to be clarified properly...... For 20 years now, I’ve been using level gauges and density meters with pressure-sensing diaphragms that are not in contact with the liquid, to deal with liquids containing severe crystalline deposits – such as desulfurization lime slurry, or electroplating wastewater that is heavily scaled and corroded. Finally, please take a look at the radio frequency admittance level gauge that doesn’t suffer from scaling :lol
It can be weighed and measured, unaffected by the type of medium.
