Dear experts: In many projects, due to design inconsistencies with the pipelines from the initial stage, fully opening the outlet valve of the hopper circulation pump can lead to overloading and shutdown of the pump. Also, even without overload jumping out of the vehicle, the flow rate at the outlet of the lock-hopper circulation pump is high, resulting in excellent slag flushing efficiency, but it accelerates pipe wear. In some projects, the flow rate is controlled using a ball valve at the outlet of the lock-hopper circulation pump; please share how you control the outlet flow rate in your own projects.

The outlet is controlled by valves, and regardless of the type, there will be throttling at the valve site, which leads to erosion and wear. An variable-frequency pump can be used to control the outlet flow, meeting the requirements whether it is for slag collection or removal; simply adjusting the flow rate to the appropriate level will suffice
Add an inverter and use it to control the flow rate; this not only allows for flow control but also helps save electricity. Alternatively, install flow-limiting orifice plates, using the size of these orifices to control the flow rate

It’s better to add an inverter, keeping the outlet valve fully open to reduce valve wear. The outlet reducer and flange of the gear pump are also wear-prone components; regular inspection is recommended
