Date: April 30, 2020 Clicks: 10 From April 19 to 27, the industrial test unit of the company’s Jinhang Furnace successfully completed a 168-hour continuous operation test, thereby providing long-term validation for the challenging task of gasifying slag derived from high-ash-melting-point anthracite coal. This experiment achieved continuous liquid slag discharge from bituminous coal with a high ash fusion point, determined the composition of the raw gas, and obtained the process consumption parameters; the carbon conversion rate was greater than 99.5%, the residual carbon content in the gasification slag was less than 1%, and the steam decomposition rate was greater than 95%. The entire system is automatically controlled by DCS, enabling one-button ignition, automatic coal feeding, and automatic slag discharge, thus laying a solid foundation for subsequent large-scale industrial construction. The success of the industrial-scale tests has earned unanimous recognition from the plant owners and industry experts, who consider that the various process parameters of the unit are excellent, the technology employed is advanced and scientific, and its operation is safe and reliable. Compared with traditional fixed-bed batch gas production furnaces, it offers comprehensive advantages such as lower renovation costs, reduced coal consumption, higher gas output, a higher degree of automation and intelligence, zero emissions, and lower operation and maintenance costs. The Jinhang Furnace industrial test facility is currently the only advanced development platform for pressurized slag technology using lump coal in the world. The company will continue to advance the iterative improvement of the pressurized slag gasification technology using lump coal on this platform, providing strong support for the industrial transformation and development of Jin Coal Group. It will also offer an efficient, clean, and economical new approach for the gasification of high-ash-melting-point anthracite lump coal in Shanxi and across the country.
