As one of the new environmental protection facilities, the carbon dioxide exhaust gas desulfurization unit for the 180 project has, after more than half a year of construction, recently completed the necessary checks and adjustments prior to its operation, as well as the final repairs required to ensure the system’s airtightness. It is now ready for use. During the environmental impact assessment process for Project 180, the assessment experts noted that the sulfur content in the carbon dioxide emissions from the low-temperature methanol washing unit was on the high side; therefore, an additional desulfurization unit was needed to ensure that the sulfur content in the emitted carbon dioxide met the environmental regulations. The carbon dioxide exhaust desulfurization unit was designed by Zhongke Company, purchased and constructed by Huisheng Company, and supervised by Coal-based Clean Energy Company. 72 hours after the engineering project is operating at full capacity and normally, the engineering department transfers control of the project to the purification unit. In order to become familiar with the process flow and operational procedures for desulfurizing carbon dioxide exhaust gases as early as possible, the purification unit of Project 180 was brought in ahead of schedule, and tasks such as the preparation of operating procedures and personnel training were completed successively ; Since November 2017, the maintenance team assigned to Project 180 has carried out regular inspections of the carbon dioxide exhaust desulfurization equipment to ensure the safe operation of the system throughout the winter. At present, through the joint efforts of the 180-item purification units and Huisheng Company, all issues related to the carbon dioxide exhaust desulfurization unit have been resolved, and it is now ready for operation.
