The entire process of the key unit in Yan’an’s coal, gas, and oil comprehensive utilization project has been operationalized. Author/Source: Yaha Coal Chemicals. Date: 2018-09-18. Clicks: 1. At 2:37 a.m. on September 17, the coal gasification and purification unit was able to produce high-quality coal-based syngas on a continuous basis, which was then sent to the natural gas conversion and synthesis unit. At 38 minutes, the coal-based syngas produced by the gasification and purification unit was successfully integrated into the methanol synthesis system of the natural gas conversion and synthesis unit, resulting in a steady increase in methanol production; this marked the completion of the entire process for the methanol plant with an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons. Thus, the entire process of Yan’an Energy Chemical Company’s “leading” production facility has been connected. By introducing coal-based syngas into the natural gas conversion synthesis unit, a complementary supply of hydrogen and carbon was achieved, which reduced the water content in methanol. Methanol production increased by 600 tons per day, thereby reducing the need to purchase methanol from external sources, saving costs for the company and improving its economic efficiency. This also ensured an adequate supply of methanol raw material for the MTO unit. During the preliminary preparation phase, the operators used nitrogen at 5 MPa to conduct a leak test on the coal-based syngas pipeline, carefully checking all the flanges, valve stems, instrument connections, and sampling boxes along the pipeline, and promptly fixing any leaks to ensure a safe and smooth integration of the coal-based syngas. It is reported that as of now, the gasification and purification unit is operating smoothly with all parameters within normal ranges. The 1.8 million tons per year methanol production plant at the Natural Gas Conversion and Synthesis Center has been operating safely and steadily for 15 days since it began production at 2 a.m. on September 3; the load on the conversion unit has been increased to 70%, and a total of 33,600 tons of MTO-grade methanol along with 82,000 standard cubic meters of hydrogen have been produced. Both the process and the equipment are functioning properly. The gasification unit employs the multi-feed slurry pressurized gasification technology developed by the Northwest Institute of Chemical Engineering; the gasification pressure is 6.5 MPa. This process features a high carbon conversion rate, with the yield of useful gas components exceeding 80%. The gasification furnace operates in a two-in-use-one-backup mode. After the raw gas produced is purified to remove sulfur and carbon, it will supply 1.547 billion standard cubic meters of purified gas per year to the natural gas synthesis facility. At 15:28 on September 11, feeding was successfully completed in Gasification Unit B of the Gasification and Purification Center at Yan’an Energy Chemical Company, marking the successful initiation of the key process route at this company.
“\"Hydrogen-carbon complementarity\" is the starting point for many petrochemical companies when developing coal chemical industries; it allows them to combine the advantages of coal and oil as raw materials, making the most of these resources and thus maximizing economic benefits!
