Zhenhai Refining & Chemical’s coal-coke hydrogen production unit officially entered dual-furnace operation mode. Author/Source: Date: 2019-02-25 Clicks: 2 On February 20, the No. 1 vaporization furnace in Zhenhai Refining & Chemical’s coal-coke hydrogen production unit was successfully fed with material, producing qualified hydrogen that was fed into the pipeline network, thus officially enabling dual-furnace operation mode. On January 30, after the successful feeding of the second vaporizer in the coal-coke hydrogen production unit, the staff on duty made every effort to ensure its smooth operation. This device is part of the headquarters’ “Ten Dragon Key Project”; many of the technologies used are being applied for the first time, with no existing experience to draw on. Moreover, it was launched during the Spring Festival holiday, preventing suppliers from providing timely technical support, which placed great pressure on ensuring smooth operations. The equipment team took the initiative to tackle the challenges without waiting for assistance; through careful research and repeated testing, they resolved issues such as blockages in the inlet ducts of the coal mills, blockages in the air cooling systems for syngas, crystallization-induced blockages in the ammonia-containing wastewater pipes, and high vibration levels in the methanol-poor pumps. While ensuring the stable operation of Reactor No. 2, it laid a solid foundation for the commissioning of Reactor No. 1. To successfully complete the production targets for March, Zhenhai Refining & Chemical decided to put the second gasifier into use. Drawing on previous experience and the characteristics of the facility, the plant team developed a detailed feeding plan, enabling the successful adoption of a \"dual-furnace\" operation mode. To date, the device has been operating stably for over 20 days, supplying nearly 2,400 tons of hydrogen to the company, thus initially achieving the goal of stable operation.
Zhenhai Refining & Chemical has developed a production approach suited to its own operational characteristics for the coal coke hydrogenation unit, and has opened up new technical directions for the processing of petroleum coke.
This company has quite strong technical capabilities
