The commissioning of the high-temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis unit at Future Energy’s coal-to-oil facility is progressing steadily. Author/Source: Date: 2019-04-18 Clicks: 9 Recently, the high-temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis unit at Future Energy’s coal-to-oil branch facility has been undergoing a steady commissioning process. From the start of construction in June 2017 to the trial operation with feed in September 2018, during which it produced qualified products and operated at full capacity, it has now been refurbished, given some time to rest, and is ready to operate once again. This project is one of the major scientific and technological initiatives of the group company in 2017; it aims to build China’s first industrial pilot plant for high-temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, to explore methods for integrating high- and low-temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis technologies, to provide operational data support for the technical development of million-ton-scale high-temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis plants, and to offer design and operational experience for the subsequent Phase 1 project, which involves a 4-million-ton coal-to-oil facility. The industrial demonstration project for high-temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis is China’s first technological project that utilizes independently developed technologies for which full intellectual property rights are owned. Its completion and commissioning laid a solid technical foundation for the construction of million-ton-scale industrial facilities in China, and it also marked that high-temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis technology was fully ready for industrial application. Academician Xie Kechang, who had previously visited Shaanxi Future Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. to investigate the progress of the project’s construction and testing, commented that the development of high-temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis technology means that we **have acquired another powerful tool for a great nation. This device system embodies the highest, most sophisticated, and most advanced technical standards of Yankuang Group as well as those of the whole country, representing a new technological direction for Yankuang Chemical. To fully implement the decisions made at the group company’s meeting regarding the second phase of the coal-to-oil project, Future Energy Company and the Coal-to-Oil Branch attach great importance to this matter. They have included it among the key items for supervision within the company’s oversight framework, and will focus on further optimizing parameters, identifying problems, and gathering data and insights related to operations, in order to establish a competitive advantage in the field of high-temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis technology. To complete the commissioning task successfully, all levels of the company worked together in coordination; during the preparation phase for commissioning, various specialized teams carried out thorough and detailed safety checks, addressing each identified risk or flaw. Next, the Coal-to-Oil Branch will focus on ensuring the safe and stable operation of the high-temperature systems, adjust and optimize the operating parameters of these systems, collect relevant data, and gradually improve the stability, efficiency, energy savings, and safety of the systems. This will lay a solid foundation for the subsequent phases of Project Phase 1, contributing to the group company’s achievement of the \"three key goals\" for high-quality development!
