Recently, with the sound of excavators working inside the wastewater treatment facility, the technical renovation of the advanced wastewater treatment systems in Xintian Coal Chemical Industry’s water treatment plant has entered the construction stage. This process upgrade is aimed at effectively improving the water quality in the current wastewater treatment system by utilizing submerged membrane filtration technology, thereby ensuring the safe and stable operation of the water treatment system and providing impetus for the company’s future development. Throughout the years, the water treatment workshop of Xintian Coal Chemical Industry has adhered to the principle of \"zero wastewater discharge\" in its sewage treatment practices. Through the joint efforts of all employees in the workshop, it has continued to move forward on the path toward zero discharge and waste recycling. As all the production units in the plant enter a phase of high-load operation, the demand for water increases in each unit, which in turn leads to an increase in wastewater discharge, placing certain strain on the wastewater treatment systems. To comprehensively address these challenges and promote the sustainable development of enterprises, it is urgent to optimize and upgrade wastewater treatment processes. In terms of process optimization and modification, the person in charge of the company’s wastewater treatment process worked closely with the construction party to develop optimization plans by taking into account the current operating conditions of the process on site. The wastewater treatment system is improved by installing submerged membrane filtration technology. This technology is a new type of membrane filtration separation technique, primarily used in the advanced treatment of wastewater. The main application advantages of submerged ultrafiltration membranes include: high solid-liquid separation efficiency ; The membrane pressure difference is evenly distributed along the length of the submerged ultrafiltration membrane, with no pressure drop loss on the water inlet side of the membrane ; The preprocessing requirements are simple, the operating cost is low, and it has strong resistance to contamination ; Submersible ultrafiltration membrane equipment is compact and occupies little space ; Suitable for large-scale water treatment applications. Currently, the renovation of the advanced wastewater treatment process at Xintian Coal Chemical is in progress. Once the process modification is completed, this technology will play an important role in production operations, offering efficient particle removal capabilities to effectively eliminate particles, colloids, large-molecule organic substances, and bacteria from wastewater. Through process optimization, the operation of the water system is improved, laying a solid foundation for the successful development of the Xintian Coal Chemical Project.
