Recently, the first gasifier for the Shenhua Yulin Circular Economy Coal Comprehensive Utilization Project, which is being built by Shenhua Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd., has arrived at the project site. Designed for a coal feeding rate of 3,000 tons per day, it is the water-coal slurry gasifier with the highest coal feeding rate in the world. This gasifier was manufactured by Harbin Boiler Factory, with a designed operating pressure of 6.5 Mpa; its dimensions are ?3810/4600×25771, and it weighs 412 tons. The Shenhua Yulin Circular Economy Coal Comprehensive Utilization Project is planned to have a total investment of 13.6 billion yuan; it will use coal as raw material to produce 1.8 million tons of methanol and 400,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year, with operations set to begin in 2020. To promote the localization of equipment, the company’s gasification units utilize the slurry coal pressurization technology developed by General Electric Shenhua Gasification Technology Co., Ltd., with Harbin Boiler Factory responsible for manufacturing all five gasifiers. To date, nearly 4 billion yuan has been invested in this project, and by promoting the use of domestic equipment and materials, approximately 110 million yuan in construction costs have been saved.
