On August 19, flags lined up along the routes used for transporting equipment at the site of the 1.8 million tons/year ethylene glycol plant, which is under the general contracting of Donghua Technology, were fluttering in the wind. At 10:30 a.m., the core equipment of the EG unit, namely the dealcoholization tower, was transported from the owner’s large-scale manufacturing plant, and was safely delivered to the unloading location of the EG unit at 6:00 p.m. The dealcoholization tower is one of the core equipment in this plant as well as across the entire facility. It has a diameter of 6.2 meters, a height of 77.3 meters, and a weight of around 333 tons; when equipped with its necessary components, its total lifting weight is approximately 457 tons. The arrival of the dealcoholization tower marks the start of the process of equipping the project’s large-scale equipment and carrying out lifting operations, and it represents one of the important milestones in the project.
