On June 1, the topping-out ceremony for Container No. 1 of the oxygen separation unit used in Sanning Chemical’s ethylene glycol project was successfully held. The installation of the cryogenic tank is the main focus in the installation of air separation units. Lifting, installation began in December last year, and the tower body was welded inside the cold box, a process that took six months. The cryogenic tank is part of the overall supply provided by Air Liquide France; it is used to house key equipment such as distillation columns and crude argon columns, thereby isolating these internal devices from heat exchange with the outside environment. The assembly of the tower structure was carried out by professionals from the manufacturing department of Air Liquide (Hangzhou). The verticality of the tower after assembly was approximately 1/10,000, which is well above the national standards, and the pass rate for RT testing of the welds was 100%. During the installation process, close cooperation among Air Liquide, Sinochem Third Construction, and various other relevant parties was essential to ensure the efficient progress of the cryogenic tank installation.
