The 10,000-ton-scale coal pyrolysis-gasification integrated technology (CCSI) industrial test unit, independently developed by Yanchang Petroleum’s Hydrocarbon Research Center, achieved another important milestone during the 15th engineering test. Since the ignition and heating began on July 9, this engineering test has been operating with feed under oxygen vaporization conditions for over 72 hours, successfully completing the oxygen vaporization calibration organized by the Shaanxi Chemical Industry Society. The on-site installation is operating stably, and the reactor system has largely achieved operation without human intervention. During the calibration period, the expert team conducted on-site inspections of the operations at various units such as coal preparation, pyrolysis-gasification, gas purification and oil recovery, residual oil recovery, and wastewater treatment, as well as of the auxiliary production systems including heat and power generation, safety, and environmental protection ; Checked the original data records ; Inspections were carried out on the control room, analysis room, and on-site sampling areas to ensure that the calibration data obtained is accurate and reliable. The calibration results show that the device operates stably, with all parameters meeting or exceeding the design specifications. The expert group agreed that this technology features high tar yield, high carbon conversion rate, and high concentration of effective components in the syngas; it enables direct coupling of gasification and pyrolysis, mutual supply of materials, complementary energy utilization, and self-balancing of heat within the reactor. It features a high level of automated control, enabling precise regulation of different temperature and fluidization fields as well as stable operation with high-rate cyclic material recycling; it is recommended to accelerate the industrial development and widespread application of this technology. Through 72 hours of on-site calibration for this oxygen vaporization test, it will surely accelerate the construction of industrial demonstration units and their commercialization, thereby promoting the continuous improvement and innovation of coal-based cogeneration technologies. It is reported that the CCSI technology was independently developed by the Hydrocarbon Research Center. It creatively integrates coal pyrolysis with semi-coke powder gasification within a single reactor, enabling the conversion of coal into two products – coal tar and syngas – in one step. The yield of coal tar is over 15 wt%, thereby maximizing the utilization rate of coal resources, the conversion efficiency, and the added value ; **The \"13th Five-Year Plan for Demonstrating Advanced Coal Processing Industries\" issued by the Energy Bureau designates the integrated coal tar extraction and syngas production (CCSI) industry project as a new demonstration project for the optimized utilization of low-grade coal. Since its completion in 2015, this industrial test facility has undergone a total of fifteen engineering tests, and the air gasification technology was approved by experts from the Sinopec Federation in April 2017. The process package design documents for the air and oxygen version of the “1 million tons/year CCSI plant” have passed expert review. The industrial demonstration and commercialization plan for CCSI was approved by expert review in August 2018.
