Date: 2022-03-30 Clicks: 16 On March 24, after more than a year of construction on the project to upgrade hydrogen production capabilities and improve ammonia production at Zhejiang Baling Hengyi, carried out by the Southwest Branch of Sinochem Second Construction Co., Ltd., the construction of the gasification unit (including slag water treatment) and the main structure of the conversion unit was completed, and the project has now entered its final phase. The project is located in the Xiaoshan Linjiang Industrial Park, Qiantang District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. The construction scope of the branch includes the gasification unit (including slag water treatment) as well as the installation work for the conversion unit buildings. At present, the steel structure has been fully completed; 95% of the equipment installation is done, 78% of the piping welding is complete, and all lighting installations for the gasification unit have been finished. The project aims to begin operations by May 2022. The project department will continue to carry out routine epidemic prevention and control measures as well as various construction tasks in a thorough manner, strictly adhering to the company’s requirements for refined management, to ensure that the construction tasks are completed safely, with high quality, and efficiently. Project Overview: The expansion project for Zhejiang Baling Hengyi’s 400,000 tons per year caprolactam production capacity is located in the Linjiang Industrial Park, Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Building on the existing 400,000 tons per year caprolactam production facility, this project aims to install a new hydrogen production unit using advanced coal chemical technology, with an output of 50,000 Nm3/h; simultaneously, it will include a 300,000 tons per year ammonia production unit as well as a supporting air separation unit with an output of 60,000 Nm3/h. Total investment: 2,478.85 million yuan. The project is constructed in two phases. The first phase utilizes the existing benzene hydrogenation process based on the cyclohexane method, the ammonia oximation process, two-stage rearrangement, and multi-stage purification processes. By adding certain key production equipment to the existing facilities for oximes, caprolactam, coal-derived hydrogen, etc., the technical upgrades are carried out to increase the capacity to 300,000 tons per year of caprolactam ; The second phase of the project utilizes a new benzene hydrogenation process based on cyclohexene, as well as Sinopec’s latest gas-phase rearrangement technology. New production lines for cyclohexene-based processes, ammonia oximation processes, and gas-phase rearrangement for caprolactam are established, along with additional auxiliary facilities to support these operations, thereby enabling an expansion of caprolactam production capacity to 400,000 tons per year.
It’s still early, right? ! ! The steel structure has been fully completed; 95% of the equipment installation is done, 78% of the piping welding is complete, and all lighting installations for the gasification unit have been finished. The project aims to begin operations by May 2022.
