The PP1 unit at Yulin Energy Chemicals successfully increased the operating load of the extruder. Author/Source: Sinochem News Network. Date: 2019-08-07. Clicks: 2. Recently, the technical staff at the PP1 unit of Yanchang China Coal Yulin Energy Chemicals conducted thorough investigations and carried out detailed discussions with electrical and instrumentation specialists on site; as a result, they were able to identify the specific reasons preventing the extrusion system from operating at higher loads, and they resolved the existing problems. It is understood that once this bottleneck is overcome, the production capacity of the polymerization units will be further increased. The technical staff of the device explained that previously, due to the power frequency of the feed solenoid valve motor in the extrusion granulation system reaching its limit, the operating load of the extruder could only be increased up to 43 tons per hour. When the polymerization unit operates under high load, there is an imbalance in the operating loads of the systems at the front and back, resulting in excessive accumulation of powder in the intermediate silos, which restricts the unit’s ability to operate at high load. After identifying the root cause of the problem, the relevant personnel carried out technical adjustments; by ensuring the proper power frequency, the speed of the discharge rotary valve was significantly increased, which greatly improved the operating efficiency of the extruder and enabled the production capacity of the polymerization unit to be fully utilized. The person in charge of the device said that this adjustment has significantly improved its operational efficiency. In future work, all personnel will continue to address complex challenges in practice, thereby continuously improving the operational efficiency of the equipment.
